HOW DO I BECOME THE BEST ME

STEP 1 -DELIBERATE PRACTICE

Deliberate practice is performing every task with a purpose. NOTHING is RANDOM or done just to be done. 

  • Know the WHY of your Training

  • Have a goal in every workout

  • 24 hour athlete - Being a good running is not just during the 2 hours of practice it is the other 22 hours as well. SLEEP, EAT Well 

STEP 2 - WEEKLY REFLECTION

John Wood Said, "Without self evaluation failure is inevitable." 

To continuously improve a person must Identify area they could improve and work to making them better. 

  • What went good this week?

  • What went bad this week?

  • What can I do to make next week better?

STEP 3 - GOAL SETTING

A LOT OF SMALL CHANGES OVER TIME PRODUCE BIG RESULTS

  • PROCESS FOCUSED/PROCESS EMPHASIZED

  • Constancy  - 100% practice attendance.

  • Persistence - Working hard when it isn't fun or easy

  • Perfect the processes - Be the best you can be that day. Don't worry about the past or future just make each day perfect.

  • Understand the final goal but focus on the HOW to get there. 

    • Before the workout - Sleep, eat right, Snack, warm-up

    • During the workout​ - Hit pace, Be alright with pain, Know the purpose.

    • After the workouts​​ - Post workout recovery food, roll-out​, sleep, stretch, Epsom salt and ice bath

STEP 4 -DISCIPLINED - Master Yourself 

Train oneself to do something in a controlled and habitual way

  • Self Control/Emotional Control - Avoids temptation 

  • Doesn't give in to instant gratification 

  • Hard Working - Talent not destiny effort is

  • Sacrifices little unimportant things for long term glory. 

  • Manages time very well

  • Stays focused on their task.  

  • Always on-time

  • Determined

  • Follows through with their commitments.
