An unpredictable meet schedule and constantly blowing cold wind made for a very looooong day at the UHSTCA meet, held at Copper Hills High.  Despite the unfavorable conditions, our Riverton athletes gave it their all and stayed focused until the very end, which was no small feat, considering the meet was a twelve-hour day by the time everything wrapped up!

 

Representing our distance girls, Katie Christopherson raced her way to a 5th place finish and season PR in the mile with her time of 5:27.87....

The Copper Hills Invitational gave some our up-and-coming athletes the opportunity to compete in a bigger meet environment against athletes from twenty two schools.  For some of them, this was their first time competing in an all-day invitational; it provided valuable experience not only in racing against a larger, more competitive field, but also in warming up for multiple events,  listening for race calls, and being put into heats in a bull pen.

Day one of the 2016 Davis Super Meet gave the distance girls a chance to practice “controlling the controllables” as the weather fluctuated between rain, snow, wind, and sun throughout the day.  They did a great job of staying warm and positive throughout the day.

 

 

There were personal records all around in the Girl’s 1600 meter run.   Kayzia Glick and Breeann Lang worked together to follow their race plan beautifully;  Kayzia ran a season’s PR of 5:49.74, and Breeann ran an overall PR of 5:...
